John Tremaine - CEO
In 1993, Q-Tran, Inc. was founded by John Tremaine, an accomplished lighting designer who was born into a family of ighting entrepreneurs and innovators.  He began his career with The Miller Company, a firm acquired in the 1930’s by his grandfather, who founded the National Electric Lamp Association.  NELA served as General Electric’s lamp division and was transformed into a prestigious research institute that is still thriving today.
Operating with the mantra “EnlightenedThinking®,” Q-Tran was established to fulfill a need in the lighting industry for flexible remote transformers that eliminate noise and heat while enhancing the quality of light output. The firm has pioneered innovative transformers and Power Supply Centers to provide safety, reliability, superior performance and convenience.  In addition, it was the first company to develop an entire Power Supply Center designed specifically for low voltage lighting.

Over the years, Gean Tremaine, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Jordan Nodelman, Vice President of Operations, would take their place by their father’s side, helping to build Q-Tran’s product line and presence throughout the industry.  Today Q-Tran is a leading designer and manufacturer of highquality, power supply systems, transformers and components.

Gean’s passion for Q-Tran shows in the rep network that has been established across the country, in the high brand recognition that Q-Tran enjoys and in winning many awards including the IES Progress report and LightFair Internationals’ award for Design Excellence in 2008.  Gean developed an AIA CEU course in 2005 and has trained countless architects on his Low Voltage Lighting Course.
