Philanthropy Updates

  • National Breast Cancer Foundation

The National Breast Cancer Foundation is a leading organization dedicated to providing breast health education, early detection services, and a helping hand to those facing breast cancer. QTL has sponsored the NBCF for four years as part of our goal to support women and women’s health. In addition to our donation, each year we focus on sharing the message about early detection with the lighting community and distribute care packages for cancer patients.

  • Sea Turtle Conservancy

Sea turtles have survived on Earth for more than 100 million years, yet today their future hangs in the balance. Six of the seven sea turtle species are threatened with extinction due to human impacts. Development of coastal areas where sea turtles breed and nest can impact sea turtles in many ways, including disorientation from light pollution. The STC is working to save sea turtles from extinction worldwide. QTL has committed to donating FWC-approved products to make problematic beachfront properties turtle safe, and to give the STC a percentage of all our FWC product sales.

  • Meriden Building

The Jim Vlock First Year Building Project is a Yale School of Architecture program where students design and build a dwelling in an underprivileged neighborhood. QTL donates lighting to the project and educates students about linear architectural LED lighting. By doing so, we are providing quality light to the families who reside in the spaces created, while investing in the education and development of the next generation of architects. Our partnership aims to inspire creativity and improve the local community, building a brighter future both literally and figuratively.
